Yoga as a Practice

of Coming Back to the Body

Erin's approach to yoga brings together traditional yoga practices, somatic awareness, myofascial release, functional movement, breath, sensation, and embodied exploration.

Not performance

This isn't yoga as performance. It isn't about becoming more flexible, more disciplined, more productive, or more aesthetically pleasing. It is an invitation to listen—to notice sensation, understand the body's language, and develop a more intimate relationship with movement, rest, pleasure, boundaries, and desire.

Somatic yoga

Somatic practice brings attention to what is happening from the inside: sensation, breath, effort, tension, ease, habit, and choice. The goal is not to force the body into a shape, but to develop greater awareness and agency within movement.

Myofascial release

Myofascial release can be used as a way of slowing down and paying attention to the body's tissues, sensation, mobility, pressure, and patterns of holding. In Erin's work, release is approached as exploration rather than another demand placed on the body.

Yoga beyond exercise

Yoga can be movement, but it can also be a practice of relationship. The question is not simply what the body can do. It is what the body is telling us, what we are willing to notice, and how that awareness changes the way we move through the world.
